What is a valid driving license to rent a car with majesticRent a Car in the UAE?

It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that he/she at all times holds and carries a valid driving license before driving the vehicle.

For UAE Resident – UAE driving license (should be one year old)

For visitor- Inteational with National license (should be one year old)

Is there a minimum age requirement?

The minimum age requirement in the UAE for rental customers is normally 25 years of age. Drivers above 21 years of age may also be allowed to rent a car, but extra insurance is mandatory in such cases. 

Can anyone drive my rented vehicle apart from myself?

Any additional drivers must be declared and they should comply with the age and driving license requirements. Additional drivers will be charged AED 100. Please check the Terms and Conditions for more details. 

If I am on a tourist visa what document do I require for car hire?

Copy of Passport with visa page, Copy of Inteational License along with country of origin license and a valid credit card imprint as security  

What insurance options are available?

A) Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
The Collision Damage Waiver, or CDW, is optional collision coverage available to customers for an extra fee. The CDW transfers some risks from the car renter to the rental company, reducing responsibility for loss or any damages to the vehicle. It also reduces insurance excess, regardless of fault, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement.

B) Personal Accident Insurance
The Personal Accident Insurance, or PAI, offers Accidental Death, Permanent and Total Disability, and Permanent Partial Disability caused by bodily injury to the driver and their passengers as per the seating capacity of the rented vehicle Can I pay using credit cards? Yes. You can pay for your car rental with your credit card. However, as all credit cards may not represented in the UAE, be sure to check with us at the time of reservation to confirm that your credit card is accepted at the place of rental.

How are rates calculated?

majesticRent a car starts counting a rental day at the time of rental pickup. The minimum rental period is 24 hours. Thereafter, there will be a grace period of one hour for the retu of the vehicle. The rental charges applicable for exceeding the grace period will be charged on the basis of a full day rental. The rates are subject to change without prior notice.

Can I drive the hired vehicle outside UAE?

Renters are not permitted to take the vehicle outside UAE.

It is possible to take the vehicle to Oman, provided prior approval is granted by us.

If I want to extend my rental while I have the vehicle, what should I do?

If you wish to extend your rental, all you need to do is contact the rental station where you collected the vehicle and they'll do the rest for you.

Salik Fees

All of our vehicles are installed with Salik sticker which will be Dhs. 5 per passage at the Salik toll gates. 

Can the car be delivered to my location, for example the hotel I am staying at

In some cases it is possible to have your vehicle delivered. Sometimes this involves additional costs. Please contact us if you want to have your car delivered somewhere. 

What should I do during an accident?

In the unforeseen circumstances of your vehicle being involved in an accident please note that the vehicle should not be moved from the point of the accident or damage, except in the case where the damage is minor and the vehicle is causing an obstruction to the traffic. You will then call the police (999) and remain with the vehicle in order to obtain a police report. Once you received the police report inform the same to us.

Important note: It is the hirer’s responsibility to provide a complete police report. Failure to obtain a police report means that no claim can be made against the insurance policy; therefore the client is liable to pay for the full cost of repair even if CDW cover has been taken

UAE Traffic Rules.

The Traffic system in UAE is designed for Left Hand Drive Vehicles

The speed limit on highways varies between 100 to 120 kmph. Interior roads carry speed limits of 40, 60 & 80 kmph

All highways & some interior roads are controlled and monitored by speed radars

Jumping of traffic signal & driving on hard shoulder are considered major traffic offences, and attract heavy fines (including imprisonment & impounding of vehicles)

It is compulsory for all front occupants in a vehicle to wear safety belt

Children below the age of 12 years are not allowed to occupy the front seats.

Use of cell phone (without hands-free) while driving is a offence liable for being fined

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.

Round-abouts are prevalent across the UAE. While negotiating the round-about, give way to traffic approaching from the left.

Most public parkings especially in Dubai, Abu Dhabi & Sharjah are designated paid parkings.

In case of an accident it is mandatory to call the police and obtain a Police Report.

What should I do in case of a breakdown?

Parking Fee & Traffic Violations? (Please check the rates)

Parking fee to be paid directly by customers at parking meters. Drivers are expected to abide with the traffic rules and regulations. All fines incurred by the vehicle while in possession of the customer will be charged to the customer. Also for every traffic fine incurred you will be charged extra AED 40/- to cover administration charges

Excess Mileage

To pay for excessive usage beyond 250 kms/day on daily rental, 1500 kms/week on weekly rental , 4000 kms/month on monthly/lease rental for passenger cars & 5000 kms/month on monthly/lease rental for commercial vehicles, @0.50 Files to AED 1.00 per km (depending on the type of vehicles)
